Frank Preston left the pages of the Press-Republican to Julie Lattrell of Keeseville and instead chose to hold a chunk of ice off the Northwestern Glacier in the Kenai Fjords, Alaska, during a cruise aboard the Alaskan Explorer on July 23.
Paul Adams of Peru, who last year brought his Press-Republican to the Great Wall of China, brought it with him this year to a Buddhist temple in Western China on the Tibet Plateau while he and his wife, Kim, were visiting their son, David, who teaches English there.
