Firefighters work to extinguish a blaze at the Marion Ives home in Moriah Sunday morning. The wood-stove chimney apparently started a fire in the wall, which was doused by firefighters from Moriah, Port Henry and Mineville-Witherbee within an hour. The fire at 2090 Moriah Road was reported just before 11 a.m., and fire officials said no one was home when the fire began. When Ives returns, she will stay with friends until repairs can be made.
