The Police Pipe and Drum Band of Plattsburgh (above)put on a stirring performance at Field, Forest, Stream Day in Elizabethtown. Using crumpled Matza crackers tossed upon a sheet of blue fabric, Jewish children and their parents re-create Tashlikh during Yom Kippur at Temple Beth Israel in Plattsburgh. Because Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services last several hours, the temple offered a much shorter program for kids on Sept. 18 to foster their understanding of Judaism, with traditional songs and activities.
