Don worked for many years at Chazy Orchards, as a bus driver for Chazy Central Rural School and councilman for the Town of Chazy. Irene worked in the Chazy Central Rural School cafeteria, eventually becoming superintendent secretary. The couple, who have lived in Chazy for 55 years, have also been involved with the Chazy Fire Department and the Sacred Heart Church, where they serve as eucharistic ministers and sing in the choir.
